We gather four times each month and in different ways.
The first Sunday of each month we meet in our community groups. Our community groups are small group gatherings of 3 to 7 individuals or 2 to 4 families that meet in a home or some other location that is comfortable and relevant. In our community groups we meet for encouragement to help us walk God's path for our lives. We find that encouragement through bible study, prayer, and fellowship centered around food. Who doesn't like food? Call 757-430-8069 for details.
The second Saturday of each month we have our youth night in the building of the Episcopal Church of Christ, located at 2520 South Holland Road, beginning at 6:00pm. Our youth night is open to all kids from 1st grade up through 12th grade. We have games, a meal, and teaching. Need directions or have questions? Call 757-430-8069
The third week of each month we do a church-wide community service project. Usually it is done on a Saturday or Sunday. Our community service projects can vary from cleaning toilets of local businesses to handing out water bottles on a hot day to doing free car washes for our neighbors. Every project is free and is a way of telling our community that we love them, God loves them, and we are committed to helping our community be a great place for our families to live. We believe that serving others is a great way to worship God.
The fourth week is for our community groups to meet for fellowship, bible study, prayer, and encouragement. Our community groups are for building trusting relationships on a deeper level. We also use this week to offer our new members training classes for those interested in joining the church. Our community groups meet in people's homes.
When a month has a fifth week, we rest. There are no church activities planned so that families can rest together and spend uniterrupted time together to do what they want to do together. |
