Vision is a reference to what we believe we will look like as a church when we accomplish our mission. Simply, our vision helps us stay focused on what we are to be instead of what we are to do. Listed below is our vision statement.
Pathfinders Church will be a community of Christ-followers who value cooperation with one another, compassionate service to our neighborhoods, creativity in how we share Jesus, and changed lives that display character.
We have a vision that God will work in the lives of people so that they can experience a change in their lives, which will lead them to fulfill their God-given purpose. As a result of changed people growing together, these people will be known for their God-like character.
We envision these people of God-like character will desire to share Jesus with their friends and neighbors because they know what a difference God made in their own lives. Because of their knowledge God can offer such a better life, these people will share Jesus as creatively as needed to be relevant to their friends.
We envision a group of people in love with God and people so much that they are led to serve with compassion to their neighborhoods. Through their service, physical and spiritual needs are met leading their neighbors and friends to consider the relationship God offers them through Jesus Christ.
We envision this church cooperating with each other to not only meet needs of people in the church and their neighborhoods, but also throughout our state, country, and the world. When they cooperate together they can do so much more.
Finally, we envision all these people being part of a community of like-minded individuals who desire to follow Christ in everyday life. People in this community will desire to be part of each other’s lives, sharing meals and praying together often. In this community they can find accountability, trusting relationships, and fulfillment.
This community of Christ-followers called Pathfinders Church will be made up of people living in the Hampton Roads area of Southeast Virginia as well as people who join the church through our website ministry around the world. |
